Pigmentation Treatment

Do you have unwanted age spots, freckles, darkened patches or melasma? Dermapen Treatments™ for pigmentation give you the chance to rewrite your skin's history for a smooth, even complexion.

Skin Concern Pigmentation 1

Condition Overview

Cells inside your skin called melanocytes are responsible for producing melanin (also known as pigment). Melanin determines the colour of your skin. If your skin produces more melanin or pigment, you'll have darker skin.

When people talk about skin pigmentation concerns, they’re talking about hyper- or hypo-pigmentation. Both of these are a result of changes in melanin production. Hypopigmentation is when there is no pigment in parts of the skin, resulting in white or pink patches. Hyperpigmentation is an excess production of melanin resulting in darker patches of skin.

Dermapen Treatments are highly effective for targeting pigmentation concerns. The pigmentation treatment is for all skin shades, but is a particularly advantageous solution for dark skin colours, where laser treatments may not be the safest option due to further pigmentation risks.

Specialty Dp Dermaceuticals™ products, such as BRITE LITE™ and BRITE LITE 3D SCULTUPTURED MASK™ enhance and accelerate results.

Symptoms

Several types of skin pigmentation issues can contribute to an uneven skin tone, and depending on their severity, they may affect your appearance and self-esteem. Age spots, also known as sunspots, are common and often appear due to prolonged sun exposure.

Melasma, sometimes referred to as chloasma, presents as larger patches of discoloration and is often triggered by hormonal changes. This type of pigmentation can be more prominent in people with darker skin tones or during pregnancy.

Freckles, though generally harmless, can also cause uneven skin tone, especially in those with lighter complexions. While freckles may fade with age, they can be exacerbated by sun exposure.

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) occurs after skin inflammation or injury, leaving darkened areas where the skin has healed. This type of pigmentation is often seen after acne or skin trauma and can linger for months.

Each of these pigmentation concerns can lead to visible changes in your skin, impacting how you feel about your overall appearance.

What is Skin Pigmentation? When people talk about skin pigmentation, they're talking about the natural colour of your skin, determined by the amount of melanin it contains. Here are some common types of skin pigmentation disorders: Melasma: These dark patches on the face are often triggered by hormonal changes (like pregnancy). Hyperpigmentation: The skin can produce excess melanin in response to damage, resulting in dark spots or patches. Causes include sun exposure, acne scars, and inflammation. Hypopig...
